Morning. Compressed Friday classes.
Word of the Day : Conditional Probability (aka: Dependent Probability)
Quiz. The Regular Thursday Quiz went well. 6 Students completed it. The mean was : 78% the median was: 82% the deviation was: +/- 21% . If you missed it, do not miss many more quizzes! They are double weight factor. The solution is a movie: Quiz Week 3 Movie Solution. The printed version is, of course, in our daily shared files.
Course Progress. Trying to wrap up the Probability Unit! We seem to have stalled out! Let’s wrap it up and then move on to Unit B next week. We will tidy up a bit more of the remaining Permutations content at a later date.
Today
- Lesson (3rd attempt!): Using ‘OR‘ in probability. Mutually Exclusive and non-mutually Exclusive Events (The Union, Addition, of Events). Notes pp. 53-59 (again!)
- Lesson Support Videos
- Assignment A-14 Mutually Exclusive Events (Addition Property) OMIT QUESTION 2, way too big a sample space.
Next Unit:
Unit B Personal Finance. I will issue the Unit B Personal Finance notes and most of related worksheets. Skim through (survey, scan) the entire notes to see which elements you recall. We had already done lots of Investments, and Interest, and Loans in Grade 11; some of the Grade 12 Unit is a repeat of the Grade 11 Interest and Credit Studies. If you had by-passed the Grade 11 you will certainly want to get a bit loosely familiar with the Grade 11 stuff! I am issuing most of printed Unit B Courseware this morning! If you are not attending today, ensure you pop by and collect it really soon.
