Intro – 5  Grade 12 Essential Study NotesCheat Sheet.  Any course of 100 hours, Math or otherwise, should be readily condensed into notes on a single two-sided sheet of paper. The real value of reference notes is in their production by your  taking a hundred hours of lessons and condensing them into succinct concepts and examples.  Prepare your own!  Use mine as a template if you choose.

Intro – 6  Grade 12 Essential Readiness. Are you ready for Grade 12? Try these ‘Inventory’ worksheets; a few very basic questions from previous grades! If they do not look  familiar then you should prepare for some extra work!

Grade 12 Essential Inventory.  Check to see if much of this pre-requisite stuff looks familar before you start your Grade 12 Essential.  Solutions PDF.  and  Solutions Movie.

Grade 11 Essential Inventory.  If none of this looks familiar then you will have a few extra challenges in Grade 11 and Grade 12 Essential.

Intro – 13. Distance Learning.  If this course is not opportune or too busy it is possoible to do it on line at several on-line access points.

Intro-14.  Grade 12 Essential Mental Math Exercises.  Large variety of warmup questions by Unit with answers.  Note they label their units differently than do I, my Unit B is their Unit A

Intro- 15. Math Review Grade 5! This is some really good stuff! Grade 5 stuff is important too, especially if you need a quick review! Don’t be bashful! Check it out. I forgot most my Grade 5 stuff! Select a lesson at bottom left of the page.

Intro -16  Calculators.  Make sure you have a decent calculator in Essential Math.  A Dollarama $3 calculator is way to cumbersome and unreliable.

Intro – 18.    Purple Math Index – Table of Contents. A great one-stop source for Grade 9 to 12 Mathematics. Lots of ads though! BEGINNING Tends to be Grade 9 – 10, INTERMEDIATE tends to be Grade 10 – 11, ADVANCED tends to be Grade 12 for Manitoba curriculum and subject to what stream you are taking (Applied vs Pre-Calculus)

Shodor Dictionary. A great dictionary for academic high school.
LearnAlberta Dictionary (High School). A wonderful on-line animated, illustrated Dictionary from Alberta
Middle Years Dictionary. Desiged more for Junior High, but lots of pictures!
A Mathematics Glossary (Junior High). A Wonderful Mathematics Glossary for all grades! Select the appropriate level. Lots of interactive explanations too!
‘Math is Fun’ Illustrated Dictionary.
AlgebraLab:Glossary.  Pictures and examples, all grades.  Some adverts at bottom
A Printable Grade 12 Glossary.  Mainly for students doing Independent Study Option. (12 Meg)

Intro -22.  Math Interactives. Some truly great sites with interactive activities to explain concepts. You must see all of these! especially if you are a visual learner!

Alberta Education Math Interactives.
National Library of Virtual Manipulatives(???) Lots of great animations; select a grade and a subject area
PhET Interactive Simulations (Math). More wonderful Apps to interactively explain Math and Science Ideas.
Shodor Interactives. (???) Even more interactive manipulatives and games, fun for the whole family.

Intro – 23. NWTerritories Literacy Website. Has lots of adult oriented Literacy and Mathematics resources:

Simply Math. A great review of Grades 5 to 8.
Home Math Workbook. Household Math: Reading Meters, Paying Bills, banking, etc.
Kitchen Math. Math in the kitchen; buying groceries, coupons, kitchen measurements and fractions, etc.
Money Math Workbook. Income, Taxes, Savings, Loans, etc.

Intro – 25.  Calculator Practice. Do you know how to use your calculator? Try these couple exercises! You will be surprised how unfamiliar you are with your calculator. By Grade 9 you start to use technology to assist your arithmetic.

Intro – 28.  Glencoe – Study Sheets.  Lots of great Worksheets with Explanations and Answers.

Intro – 30.  Multiplication Tables. If you do not know your times tables in High School, math will be absolutely brutal.  Check out the dozens of links here to learn the times tables.
