25 Apr Grade 12 Essential.  Word of the Day: SOH CAH TOA  (our next unit!  Trigonometry)

Announcement:

  • Re-Do Quiz today from last Thursday for those with low mark and the half the class that missed it.  Max 75%.
  • Mid-Term Test (~15% course weight factor) on Thursday 4 May
    • Mid Term Marks go to Sponsors & Funders on Friday 5 May
      • Math Assignments in no later than Tue 2 May for inclusion in Mid-Term Marks
  • 50% penalty for Assignments overdue by more than two weeks.
  • Calendar for Remainder of Course  (May / Jun)

  • Finish up Unit C Notes: Quartiles, Inter-Quartile Range
  • Play in some Apps (?)  (technically using Apps is only for Applied Math, but certainly worthwhile devices to better enhance studies)
    • Demo an interesting Stats App that does Data with their frequency:  Stats App on Google Play
    • Play with Desmos Calculator to do Stats. The Desmos Calculator does a great job of Stats too.  Not too easy on a tiny phone though.  Check out my DESMOS Stats Movie.  Technically only Applied Math students get to use apps and technology!
  • Issue Stats Practice Quiz  (Not hand-in) (good review for Thursday Quiz)
  • Issue Unit G – Geometry and Trigonometry courseware
    • 80% overlap with Grades 10 and 11 Trigonometry and Geometry Units!  So should look rather familiar to many students who have done Grades 10 and 11 with us this year.
